Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Shiver, is a supernatural romance…about werewolves…Not the turn into a raging rabid beast when the full moon rises, but more of a lose yourself when it gets cold type. It follows Grace, a girl attacked by wolves when she was young, and her fascination with a particular yellow eyed wolf. When he shows up in human form wounded on her doorstep it gets intense.
I love this book. If you are in the mood for escape. This book gives it to you. If you love romance and music, with a touch of supernatural, well, a healthy helping of it, anyway. The book is structured in chapters most of the chapters take place from a certain characters point of view, and then change while still staying on the same timeline. I enjoy this because it allows you to get to know the main players better and offers multiple points of view. The characters are developed but not too deep. The plot flows well and its an easy read but a stimulating one. Maggie S. did some research into wolf behavior and you can tell, I also love how she ties in “werewolves” in a more palatable way keeping more like involuntary shape shifters than rabid killers, while still keeping the essence of “werewolves” as they have no control and lose who they are once they transform.
This book is the first in a series The Wolves of Mercy Falls which consist of Shiver, Linger, Forever, and Sinner. Enjoy this book outside by a bonfire or in your room with a good drink and some good music that might make you shiver.
