Ossian Mini Carnival
For the first time, the Ossian Branch hosted a Mini Carnival to celebrate the start of Summer Reading. Visitors could help make rope with volunteer Lowell Tillman and play games, which were manned by several young volunteers. This was also a wonderful time for people to sign up for Summer Reading if they hadn't already. Approximately 200 people attended the event, which bodes well for it becoming an annual occurrence. Written by Susan DaileyI’m Susan Dailey, the manager of the Ossian Branch Library. I’ve worked at the library since I was in high school. (In fact, I received my first library paycheck before my driver’s license!) I’m also a “minor celebrity” to the kids in Ossian because I read books to the preschoolers and kindergartners each month. I've written two books for librarians with ideas for storytime and have taught workshops on the topic around the country.
