Kent Haruf series

Posted on May 15, 2013 at 11:34 AM

Kent Haruf has recently added a title to an exquisite set of novels set in fictional Holt, Colorado. Plainsong (c.1999) and Eventide (c.2004) have both been read recently by the "Who Picked This Book Anyway?" Club, and all the members of the club look forward to continuing our relationships with the citizens of Holt in Benediction, released this year. Each title follows different people in this small, stark, simple-yet-complex community as we explore what makes up a family and grow to care deeply about these characters that Haruf develops so completely.  If you read any of these books (Plainsong first!), please stop by the front desk to discuss them with me, or post a comment below!Staff_Picks.jpg

I’m Teresa Dustman, and I’m the Circulation Manager here at WCPL. If you come into the library with any frequency you know my face from the front desk (because I feel like I live out there!). When I’m not at the front desk I’m at my desk behind the window, working to make your library experience exceptional. During those hours that I’m away from the library I love to walk, jog, bike, kayak (anything enjoying God’s nature), travel, and spend time with my family and friends.
